What plants attract pollinators?

Bees are responsible for pollinating a large part of the food consumed in the world, such as beans, chili, tomatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins, plums, mangoes, apples, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and almond trees.

From flower to flower, the bees in their search for their own sustenance carry the pollen by brushing the pistils of the flowers, taking with them the seed that fertilizes entire fields!

75% of the world's vegetation depends on the pollination of bees according to data from the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO).

However, in recent years, there is a worldwide phenomenon known as Colony Collapse, which consists of the accelerated death of thousands of bees on the planet.

Among the causes that have caused this problem is the loss of flowers and plants, as well as air pollution and toxic pesticides.

Let's help bees by growing plants and flowers to attract pollinating insects. You can choose between the following species and turn any corner of your garden or even your balcony into a source of food for these great workers that we need so much.

  • Native flowers: those that grow naturally in your area, being endemic plants, they will adapt better to the conditions. Traditional plants: such as sunflowers, petunias, poppies, daisies, geraniums, roses, calendula and carnations.
  • Vegetables: preferably cucumber, onion, chives, squash, broccoli, and cauliflower. Fruits: bees like blackberry bushes and trees like apple and cherry. Herbs: especially aromatic ones like mint, lavender, rosemary, basil, thyme - of course, you can also use them.
  • Trees: The avocado he benefits from pollinators and they benefit from him too.

Bees are a species that is characterized by maintaining balance in our environment, their work allows us to enjoy the wide variety of healthy foods and even their honey, that is why we must ensure the conservation of this unique insect in the face of danger of extinction in which they are due to the amount of chemicals and loss of habitats.
