Reduce the environmental impact. A current lifestyle

Environmental impact is a concept that can be interpreted from two points of view, and both have different connotations, so we see that the legal definition in our country is the one that says the following: “It is the modification of the environment caused by the action of man or nature ”.

In this definition the concept is based mainly on the negative effects caused to the environment, be it land, water or air.

Leaving aside natural phenomena such as hurricanes or tornadoes, which are some of the most catastrophic events and in which man does not have direct action, the analysis of people's actions on the environment is more important. Since they will generally cause collateral effects on their environment, these actions can be positive or negative.

Today's global concern from the environmental impact point of view is mainly focused on various types of actions and / or industrial activities. Pollution of the sea by pollutants such as oil derived from oil activity, pesticides from agricultural activity that reach the sea through rivers, the continuous increase in domestic garbage (plastics) that affect marine life (fish, reptiles and marine mammals), waste from radioactive energy, noise pollution in urban and rural areas, the increase in the emission of greenhouse effect gases (GHG) or the loss of surface area of natural habitats, are just some examples of the environmental impact that most concern the different international governments.

In today's world, most of the energy used in different countries comes from oil and natural gas, which have generated a series of pollutants that different governments have tried to manage in different ways. The corresponding authorities have taken technical and legal provisions at the internal level and jointly at the international level, all with the purpose of avoiding or reducing pollution by itself, or by the effects it causes.

Notwithstanding the above, the efforts made have not been sufficient to stop the continuous increase in pollution worldwide, which can be seen with the worrying level of Climate Change, derived from Greenhouse Gases (GHG), Which if their generation is not controlled, will cause effects on a world scale, both for human life, as well as wild flora and fauna.

The government effort must receive the help of each inhabitant of this planet, since without our participation (finally we are the indirect causes of this environmental impact, since governments do everything possible to satisfy our lifestyle), the effort would be in vain.

One of the ways to help reduce the environmental impact on our environment is precisely to adopt a lifestyle less consumerist and look for alternative sources that are less impactful to nature, either by consuming less fossil fuels (gasoline, diesel), using clean energy (based on solar cells or those from wind turbines), reduce our waste from the source and try to reuse or recycle those we generate.

These individual actions, if added together, could be very helpful at a global level, based on the precept that says the following: "local changes equals global changes."
