Pistachio in particular is rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which, unlike saturated and trans fats, reduce the levels of LDL cholesterol or "bad cholesterol" in the blood.
  2.  It is the best dried fruit against diabetes (Type II). As the study carried out by the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) of Tarragona, led by Dr. Mónica Bulló, shows, pistachios reduce blood glucose levels and improve insulin resistance. According to Bulló "in the treatment of diabetes, pistachios are more effective compared to other nuts, due to their high content of fiber, beta-carotene and procyanidins."
  3.  Improves sex life, orgasmic function and sexual desire. The secret? Its high content of healthy fats, natural plant sterols, proteins, fiber and antioxidants. This is reflected in the study led by Dr. M. Aldemir of the Atatürk University Hospital and Research Center in Ankara (Turkey), published in the International Journal of Impotence Research.
  4.  Helps control weight and reduces the tendency to obesity. This is due to its nutritional profile rich in fiber, which produces a satiating and prolonged effect, helping to control weight. Likewise, according to a study published in the scientific journal PlusOne, eating nuts such as pistachios, three times a week or more, reduces the probability of suffering from obesity, metabolic syndrome and diabetes.
