Extending the life of our planet and its resources is perhaps the greatest environmental challenge facing humanity.

According to estimates by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), if the current growth rate continues under which the world population is expected to reach more than 2050 billion people by 9, the natural resources equivalent to 3 planets simply to maintain the current standard of living.

This and other important challenges, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions for example, call us to take action in the fight against climate change, where the generation of awareness and the modification of behavior patterns towards the environment are fundamental. These are the objectives pursued by World Health Day Environmental education, celebrated around the world on January 26.

Respect and conservation of the environment are the basis of a new development and lifestyle scheme, which today is being promoted by incorporating the circular economy model in the cycle of human consumption.

Aware of its advantages and of the urgency of bringing this philosophy to more and more people, Veolia - a leading global company in the efficient management of water, waste and energy - promotes various educational initiatives that explain how to apply the circular economy to our daily lives.

The latest and most innovative educational campaign of the company is The Renewing Machine, an interactive experiential website showing the circular economy applications in various cities and industries around the world. Upon entering, the user chooses a type of waste (Plastic bottles, olive pits or even a boat), follow the transformation process to which these materials are subjected, and finally learn how they are recycled and reused in the form of new products.

Let's support and share the respect and conservation of the environment; Today, more than ever, it is a priority to spread the benefits of the circular economy for our well-being and that of future generations. Remember that education must be the foundation on which we build a sustainable future.
