Moving through congested cities like Mexico City is getting more difficult every day.

How many times have you been sitting in traffic for more than two hours, not knowing if you will ever reach your destination? It has not caused you to leave the vehicle at home and let someone else drive. Or do you have a co-worker or friend who does the same daily route, and have you thought about saving a little on fuel?

Traveling in Rides is a sustainable form of transport that reduces emissions, saves fuel, reduces the number of vehicles on the street and allows you to travel safely and in an organized manner.

Speaking with Cristina Goddard about her project, she explained to me that Aventones is a company that was founded in 2010 and began with the mission of offering a sustainable solution to traffic problems.

"It is a comprehensive service that facilitates and promotes car sharing as a culture, within different organizations such as companies, universities or even the government."

More interestingly, he told me that in exchange for an annuity, they offer their clients two innovative and interesting services:

The first consists of web-based software that allows its members to find car travel companions, compatible in terms of routes, schedules and empty spaces.

"Each organization has its own online network, so that the security and privacy of users and their information is guaranteed," he added. "In addition, the platform generates performance reports such as pollutants saved, kilometers traveled, among others."

The second benefit for users is that his team designs a tailor-made implementation strategy for each client that consists of a communication campaign and an incentive plan for prominent users. We could say that the highlight according to Cristina is that the Aventones program offers its users to save resources, make better use of the empty space in their cars, create environmental awareness and help reduce traffic. “We are passionate about technology and the environment, so our vision is to be leaders in Latin America; provide services to the best 100 organizations in each country; to be a starting point for organizations on the subject of mobility, and to double the value of our business every two years ”, Cristina commented with ambition.

The sustainable project and the Univdiversity of the Environment

How did Rides get to know the Univdiversidad de Medio Ambiente? So simply and simply that through a tweet from GreenMomentum, an environmental projects consultancy.

It was then that they decided to join the UMA's Environmental Entrepreneurs Program, "because it could give a more sustainable approach to the business," Cristina replied.

“Currently, we are in a process of searching for invdiversity. Operations in Chile have already started, where more than 30,000 users are registered, and we plan to continue the expansion in Brazil and Argentina ”, concluded Cristina.
