The return to the most primitive state of human nutrition.

The proliferation of diseases such as diabetes, food allergies, and other diseases that have appeared with greater incidence from the industrialization of food have led to the reflection and creation of many trends that return to the basics, and simple that should be feeding.

The Paleo diet, or Paleolithic, as its name well reflects it, is the return to the most primitive state of feeding of the human species, where hunters and gatherers only ate foods of natural origin and existing in their environment.

This nutrition system is based primarily on two basic premises:

  •

The human being evolved to feed naturally on foods basically made up of fat and protein.

  •

Processed foods, rich in carbohydrates and chemical elements, are toxic to the body.

This nutritional current professes, and has been supported by many scientists, directly and indirectly, that the consumption of processed grains, sugars and other chemical elements today are the reason why diseases such as diabetes have exponentially increased their incidence in the population worldwide. They are based, and with proven studies, that carbohydrates that are abundant in the modern diet, are converted into sugars in the body, at such exaggerated levels that the pancreas is constantly overworked, producing insulin to be able to process them. Therefore, these insulin spikes, and the abuse of this organ end up affecting its proper functioning and production of this substance.

Likewise, chemicals in food, fruits and vegetables, since they are grown (fertilizers and compost), such as preservatives so that they reach the supermarkets from the fields, flavorings and colorants, are chemical agents that accumulate in the organism, and little by little making it sick and weakening it. Our immune system identifies these substances as harmful, and diverts resources to attack them, while neglecting other battle fronts, and allows viruses and bacteria such as the flu to affect us more easily.

<> Despite the fact that in the spectrum of diet types, the Paleolithic diet is a very energetic current of the Vegan, with a very different approach, in the end both advocate a return to nature as a lifestyle. And although the consumption of red meat is allowed as a source of animal protein, the consumption of foods such as nuts, seeds, and vegetables is highly present; so define the stone age diet as only a diet based on lean meats is a fallacy.

<> The correct thing is that if you are going to start a diet, whatever your reasons, you should go to a nutritionist to evaluate your nutritional requirements based on your physical activities, history and other factors. Remember, what for one person may be a remedy, for the other, a poison, there is no miracle diet.
